Itinerary
Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital city nestled in a valley surrounded by the Himalayas, you’ll be greeted with warm hospitality. After airport formalities, transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore nearby markets, ancient temples, or simply relax and adjust to the altitude.
After breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city known as the gateway to the Annapurna region. The journey takes about 6–8 hours by road, following the winding Trishuli River and passing through green hills, terraced fields, and small towns. Upon arrival in Pokhara, enjoy views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountains and relax by the tranquil Phewa Lake.
After an early breakfast, take a short 1.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the starting point of your trek. From here, begin your walk through charming villages and terraced farmlands along the Bhurungdi Khola (river). Pass through Birethanti and Tikhedhunga before climbing a steep stone staircase with over 3,000 steps to reach Ulleri, a beautiful Magar village surrounded by lush forests and scenic mountain views. The trek takes about 5–6 hours.
Today’s trek leads you through enchanting rhododendron and oak forests as you ascend steadily toward Ghorepani. The trail offers glimpses of mountain peaks and passes through small settlements like Banthanti and Nangethanti. As you gain altitude, the air becomes cooler and the landscape more alpine. After 4–6 hours of trekking, you’ll reach the scenic village of Ghorepani, set against the backdrop of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. It’s a peaceful spot to rest and prepare for an early hike the next day.
Rise early for a short hike to Poon Hill, one of the most famous viewpoints in Nepal. From the top, witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas, with panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and other snow-capped peaks glowing in golden light. The trek takes about 5–6 hours, and Chomrong is the last major settlement before heading into the Annapurna Sanctuary.
Today’s trek begins with a descent down stone steps from Chomrong to the Chomrong Khola, followed by a steep ascent to Sinuwa. From here, the trail winds through a dense bamboo and rhododendron forest, offering a cooler and quieter trekking experience. You'll pass through small settlements like Bamboo and gradually climb to Dovan. The journey takes about 5–6 hours and brings you deeper into the Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by forested cliffs and the soothing sound of rivers.
Today's trek leads you further into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. Starting from Dovan, the trail gently ascends through a peaceful forest of bamboo, oak, and rhododendron. You’ll pass through the Himalayan Hotel and Hinku Cave, with the valley gradually opening up and the air getting thinner as you gain altitude. The landscape becomes more rugged and alpine, with stunning views of towering peaks and waterfalls. After 4–5 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Deurali, a small resting point surrounded by cliffs and glaciers, offering a dramatic Himalayan setting.
Today is one of the most rewarding days of the trek. Begin your journey from Deurali with a gradual ascent along the Modi Khola valley. As you pass through rocky terrain and sparse vegetation, you'll soon reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp, surrounded by dramatic views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South. After a short break, continue the climb to Annapurna Base Camp, the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. Surrounded by a majestic amphitheater of snow-capped peaks, including Annapurna I (8,091m), this is a truly breathtaking destination. The total trek takes 5–6 hours and ends with awe-inspiring Himalayan scenery.
On Day 10, you begin your descent from the Annapurna Base Camp area, trekking down to Bamboo. The journey is refreshing as you leave behind the high-altitude terrain and begin to retrace your steps through the lush forests and rhododendron groves. The trail offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and occasional glimpses of local wildlife. As you descend from around 4,130 meters, the air becomes warmer and easier to breathe, making the trek more comfortable. Bamboo is a cozy village nestled in the forest, known for its peaceful environment and traditional teahouses. Upon arrival, you can relax, enjoy a hot meal, and appreciate the tranquility of the natural surroundings after several days of trekking. This day is less strenuous, providing a well-deserved rest while still allowing you to experience the stunning Annapurna region.
On Day 11, you continue descending from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda, a charming village famous for its natural hot springs. The trek takes you through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages, offering a peaceful journey surrounded by nature. The trail is mostly downhill and easier compared to previous days, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and fresh mountain air. Upon arrival at Jhinu Danda, you can unwind in the warm, soothing hot springs—an ideal way to relax your tired muscles after days of trekking. The village itself is quiet and welcoming, with simple teahouses where you can enjoy local meals and rest comfortably. This day blends adventure with relaxation, giving you a chance to recharge before continuing your trek.
On Day 12, you complete the final leg of your trek by descending from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul, a scenic village where your trekking journey concludes. The trail winds through beautiful forested areas, traditional villages, and terraced farmland, offering peaceful views and glimpses of rural mountain life. The descent is gentle, making it an easy and enjoyable walk. Upon reaching Nayapul, you will be greeted by your transport waiting to take you to Pokhara, a vibrant lakeside city known for its stunning natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere. The drive from Nayapul to Pokhara takes about 1.5 to 2 hours along winding roads with scenic views of rivers and hills. Once in Pokhara, you can celebrate the successful completion of your trek with comfortable accommodations, delicious food, and opportunities to explore the city’s attractions like Phewa Lake and the lively lakeside market. This day marks a rewarding end to your Annapurna adventure.
After completing your trek, you'll drive back to Kathmandu through scenic countryside roads. Once you're ready for your international flight, a representative from Kinga Lama Trek Nepal will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your final departure.
